Damage Control is an electro-industrial music project centred around its core members Bill Barsby, Richard Thacker and Alex Wise, who are all based in Australia, plus Markus App from Germany. Both Barsby and Thacker are originally from Birmingham, England.
The group recently recorded four songs with the Danish electro-industrial musician Leæther Strip aka Claus Larsen. Having issued two of them, ‘Rage’ and ‘Oblivion’, as singles earlier in 2026, all four are now collected on an EP entitled ‘Master Of Silence’ that is out now on Metropolis Records.
The EP is produced by Chris Peterson (Front Line Assembly, Noise Unit, Unit:187) and engineered by Greg Reely (Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly, Fear Factory), both of whom are respected figures in the industrial music genre. Peterson has contributed synth parts to the EP song ‘Obstacles’, which also features additional programming by Josh Rombout of the Australian EBM/industrial act SIRUS.
Barsby has previously commented that “we like working with guest singers and have always loved Leaether Strip since the early ’90s industrial and darkwave club scenes. We were curious to hear what the combination of our songs, Claus’ vocals and Chris’ production would sound like.”
Having collaborated with several like-minded musicians from all over the world on their well received 2017 debut album, ‘Ultranoia’, Damage Control have repeated the trick for its long-awaited follow-up, ‘Oblivion Grid’, further details of which will be announced shortly. Peterson and Reely have been involved with both records.
