In Pesaro, Italy, on the year of Italian Capital of Culture 2024, Algebra delle Lampade (Algebra of Lamps) is the electronic music festival that starts on April, Saturday 27th and Sunday 28. The festival on its second year is curated by the Italian electronic composer Paolo Tarsi of Anitya Records.
On April 27th at 6pm at the Chiesa dell’Annunziata, the festival starts with I FEEL LIKE A BOMBED CATHEDRAL: the new project between post-rock, avant-garde and electronics by Amaury Cambuzat already known as the leader of Ulan Bator or as the current guitarist of the legendary German band Faust.
The Skies is the live show that Roger Eno will perform at Teatro Sperimentale (9pm), bringing the rarefied atmospheres of his recent albums recorded on the piano for the prestigious Deutsche Grammophon, The Turning Year (2022) and The Skies, They Shift Like Chords (2023). A collaboration, the one with the German label, which began in 2020 with the publication of Mixing Colors created together with his brother Brian and the result of a refined fusion between classical and ambient music.
Roger Eno’s second solo album for Deutsche Grammophon, The Skies, They Shift Like Chords, contains a dozen tracks that express nostalgia for something lost while projecting a sense of something timeless, like the renewal of the seasons or the rise and fall of the breath. The composer-pianist builds on the soundworld of The Turning Year, his debut solo album for DG, adding layers of instrumental and electronic colours and including a song co-written and sung by his eldest daughter, the artist, vocalist and image maker Cecily Eno.
The first day of the festival sees, at 10.30pm, [ MONOTONOISE ] in concert at Teatro Sperimentale: the ambient, techno – electronic music duo composed of Giancarlo “Delavie” Cagliero and Enrico “Urz” Vaudet. Their artistic project’s formation in 2020 was anticipated by several musical productions, an important collaboration with Johnson Righeira by participating in the celebrations of the fortieth anniversary of his Vamos a La Playa, remixing his iconic 80s’ song.
On April 28th, young emerging musicians and music production enthusiasts will have the opportunity to participate, again in the context of Algebra delle Lampade, in the masterclass conducted by Pino ‘Pinaxa’ Pischetola, historical accomplice and inseparable sound engineer of Franco Battiato, who worked from the second half of the Eighties at the Logic Studios of the La Bionda Brothers (Milan), The Hit Factory (New York), Sunset Sound Recorders (Hollywood), Shangri-La (Malibu), Larrabee Sound Studios (California), passing through the famous Abbey Road Studios in London, up to opening the PINAXA Studio in 2007 where he currently operates.
Over the years he has worked with many great artists such as Depeche Mode, Antony and the Johnsons, Skye of Morcheeba, Jim Kerr of Simple Minds, Robert Palmer.
