Esteemed London imprint Lo Recordings, a label that for over 25 years have been carefully curating music across the spectrum, will present a special night of live music and DJs at
The House of St Barnabas in Soho on Thursday the 26th of May 2022.
'State of Independents' is the latest in a new series of events at the House of St Barnabas that aim to celebrate and emphasize the importance and impact of Independent Record Labels
on the world of music. The night will see Lo Recordings bring to life their compilations series called ‘Spaciousness’, with live performances from
Seaming To and Amine & Labelle together with DJ sets from Private Agenda, Jon Tye, Chuggy
and Hot Chip’s Rob Smoughton.

AMINE & LABELLE – The
Berlin and Paris based duo have just released their debut album ‘African Prayers’ which features exquisite percussive & rhythmic
interpretations inspired by the Lila Ritual Music of the Moroccan Gnawa Masters. North African infused modern classical for electronic instruments and prepared piano via Berlin & Réunion.
SEAMING TO – Composer, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and producer born in London and comes from a family of concert pianists. Seaming To has been described as ‘the voice of a 21st
Century’ (Radio1), and an artist that is truly ‘avant garde’ (Robert Wyatt). Her experimental ethos and mastery across a variety of instruments has enabled her to collaborate with some of the most respected and radical artists of this decade in electronic,
classical and experimental genres.

PRIVATE AGENDA – Following the release of their acclaimed ‘Ile De Reve’ album in 2019, the Berlin and London based avant-pop duo are back and have delivered a stunning new record
‘A Mannequin’ on Lo Recordings.The new twelve track collection sees them craft a musical world of effortless eclecticism where they bring together the forward-thinking electronica sounds of Jessy Lanza and Yves Tumor with the soft, soulful pop of Babeheaven
and Erika de Casier.
JON TYE (Seahawks/Ocean Moon) : expect down tempo delights, celestial highs and warm tones.
ROB SMOUGHTON (Hot Chip/Black Peaches): playing some of his own music along with a choice selection of smooth AOR and Brazilian grooves.
CHUGGY (Emotional Response/Emotional Rescue): Chuggy is renowned for his way out grooves and eclectic tastes.

Jon Tye and Gavin O’Shea have witnessed the ebb and flow of an art form in constant mutation. With over 200 releases on the label together with award winning Norwegian/US based design team Non-Format tell an unfolding story of alternative music
since the mid-90s.
Their output reaches across and beyond the electronic music world to include jazz, rock and avant-garde.
Aphex Twin, Grimes, Susumu Yokota, Luke Vibert, David Toop, Fischerspooner, Blur, Ed Macfarlane, Thurston Moore
and Squarepusher are amongst the long list of names that adorn their back catalogue.
