Berlin-based darkwave artist Night Nail has just released “Passion Squad,” their second single from their highly-anticipated fourth studio album entitled “Infinite Fountain” on Icy Cold Records (France). What happens when your 9-to-5 isn't just a grind, but a countdown to your own obsolescence? Night Nail's Brandon Robert answers this with his latest single, “Passion Squad,” a haunting, romanticized retelling of his real-life, tragic story working in E-commerce alongside the very technology designed to replace him. Inspired by his final days in the corporate world, “Passion Squad” isn't just a song about job loss—it’s a psychological dive into the digital abyss. Brandon flips the script, telling the story from the perspective of the Artificial Intelligence model itself. The lyrics open with a chillingly empathetic blow: “Your story’s really sad.” “Passion Squad,” available on all digital and streaming platforms, was mixed and produced by Sven Wolff at Cosmonaut Studio in Berlin, Germany and coproduced by Night Nail. Saxophone was played by Ruby Mai with additional bass guitar by Kill Shelter and backing vocals by VV & the Void.
