As the title suggests, “Cold New World” is a cold, bleak and dystopian electronic track. The lyrics were inspired by the anime film “Grave of the Fireflies.”
Project leader Konsta Vehkala tells about the song:
“Once the foundation of the track was finished, its dark overall feel called for equally dark and bleak lyrics. I had just watched the film and was deeply moved by it, so I decided to base the story on it. The track tells the story of two people struggling together in a world destroyed by humanity itself, where the remaining survivors march over the weak and there is no light left in the world and in the lives of the people.”
LAHO is the electronic music project of Konsta Vehkala, blending elements of industrial, EBM, futurepop, and darkwave. Vehkala cites artists such as Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, and VNV Nation among his main influences, as well as industrial metal bands like Rammstein, Ministry, and Pain. He has previously been known as a drummer in bands such as Psychework, Vipermilk, Gian, and Lojohh. LAHO’s earliest releases date back nearly 20 years, but the upcoming EP marks a full reboot of the project.
LAHO’s upcoming EP will be released in June 2026. Before that, one more single from the EP will be unveiled.
