The song features the usual mix of synths, drum programming and soaring guitars. It was recorded by Nick Beere at Mooncalf Studios in Wiltshire. “Monster” was certainly the most creative the band had been. It was the first song where they truly mixed up the instrumentation – Tim played his first guitar part and Nick did the main bass part for a change. There is even a sampled vocal from the mysterious Gram Elder within the recording.
Deadlight Dance were formed in 2021, having previously worked together in 1989-1990 and 2004-2005. The band comprise of multi-instrumentalists Nick Fletcher and Tim Emery. The band are signed to Ray Records and the “Chapter & Verse” EP was their third release after “…Beyond Reverence” and “The Wiltshire Gothic”.
