13 Tracks for February 13th (Friday, nevertheless) 404 Error return with their second album Genre Reveal Party

404 Error hail from Northern England and are a semi-anonymous project led by the artist known as 36663.

Their debut album ‘Scene Killers’ was met to positive acclaim, a tongue-in-cheek tribute to the Goth scene, full of addictive synthpop. Genre Reveal Party shows a much more mature approach to craftmanship.

“There were only so many jokes you can make on one album about the same thing, so we had to go wider” explain 36663

As well as playful ribs like “What We Do in the Toilets” (“About the people you meet in Goth club toilets”) there are also some serious notes, such as creepy photographers, and playing to empty venues.

The album is available on Bandcamp, Spotify, and associated retailers.

To coincide with the release, a Video for ‘Vanity Booking’ dropped.

36663 explains – “I keep seeing bands and fans putting up photos and videos in empty venues and it’s worrying. All gigs are a risk, but in some cases there are bands and promoter who KNOW the band cannot fill the venue and in a time when everyone is hurting, it does not help struggling venues. And sure, the idea of booking an Academy room is nice, but what’s the point in doing a 500 cap venue to 30 people?!”
