Swedish electronic duo Hatif returns with “Take the Bait,” the third single from their forthcoming album, Small States. Out January 17, it marks their first release of the year.

The track is driven by tension and persistence, its steady yet uneasy rhythm underscored by distant vocals that echo themes of conflict, resilience and frustration — but also a quiet strength.

With “Take the Bait,” Hatif sharpens their distinct blend of post-punk, synthpop, and darkwave, infused with the energy of electro and techno. The textured layers and shifting rhythms make it a compelling listen for fans of dynamic, atmospheric electronic music.

The album, Small States, explores power, identity, and relationships. It addresses the balance of navigating struggles and alliances. It is set for release in spring 2025.

Hatif, formed in 2020, is a Stockholm-based duo with roots in Northern Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Their sound merges cold, dark synth tones with warmer, expressive melodies to create a unique and evocative sonic identity.
