Multi instrumentalists and producers John Garner and Simon Roth are set to release a new festive album via independent imprint Lo Recordings on the 8th of December 2023.
‘Avant Xmas’, self produced and recorded at Unit 21 in London, features sixteen tracks including the new single ‘Silent Night’ and will be digitally available as a pack of six Christmas cards with download codes through Bandcamp. Proceeds from the cards and digital sales will be donated to MAP (Medical Aid for Palestinians) and PCFF (The Parents Circle-Families Forum) a joint Israeli-Palestinian organisation of over 600 families, all of whom have lost an immediate family member due to the on going conflict.

Garner is a Buddhist whilst Roth is a Jew and together they have long been fascinated by Christmas and its bauble-shaped bounty of earworms. Concerned that there is a shortage of avant-garde Christmas music out there for public consumption, the pair hope to join Mariah Carey in the tinsel-decked halls of festive fame with this new offering.

Fearless voyagers of England's North-South divide, John keeps his violins, flutes and gadgets in Gateshead and Simon his drums, clarinets, toys and Magic Box in London. They met through Manchester's Brighter Sound while on tour accompanying saxophone legend Chris Potter, subsequently forming a duo to explore their shared love of improvisation and surrealism. Their recent debut album ‘ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ’ is available on Wormhole World.
