Pyrotechnic Babel marks the first official album by Fiesta Alba and the band’s second release, following their self-titled EP from 2023. Spanning over forty minutes, the album delivers complex, multi-faceted music, refining and expanding upon the languages and themes introduced in their acclaimed debut.
The title, Pyrotechnic Babel, is a sonic manifesto: rooted in math rock yet freely blending genres, tones, and languages. African polyrhythms, dub, the refined minimalism of 20th-century American composers, loop-tronica, progressive rock, contemporary British jazz, and drum’n’bass are merged into a rich soundscape. The result is a dynamic explosion of colours and energy—a true pyrotechnic babel.
After incorporating voices from Italy, the United States, and Africa in their first release, Fiesta Alba broadens their scope even further. This new album features singers and rappers from Japan, Central Europe, Africa, and Italy, alongside radical thinkers, philosophers, and contemporary storytellers. Supported by the band's intricate musical textures, these voices bring to life the contradictions and complexities of the modern world.
