VESTAL, NEW YORK — October 18, 2026 — Alfred Pagan, releasing as Chillthoven, has released his debut album Sonatas & Subwoofers. Available since October 4, the nine-track, 24-minute collection brings together classical-inspired melodies, synthesizers and bass-driven electronic production.
Opening track Basshoven is a clean, 1:50 instrumental built around dramatic piano, synthesizers and sub-bass. The audio was generated using Suno under Pagan’s creative direction; the project openly identifies its use of AI.
Pagan previously made beats in FL Studio. His motivation for exploring AI was to express melodies he could hear in his head but could not fully realize with his available skills and time. Chillthoven brings together two longstanding interests: good beats and classical music.
