Ok, you should be familiar with Orkus periodical who's who of the gothic scene – this compilation follows the usual technical characteristics of the series: double cd chock-full of tracks, digipack sleeve, a booklet with succint song information, and cemetery photos all around. Music seems to be equally distributed between dark/goth and electro/EBM and I think all tracks are released stuff from the bands' latest records, or alternative versions/remixes from ep's. Thus said, here are some of the names featured: Lacrimosa, L'ame Immortelle (special prize for "most ubiquitous project": I still have to find one of these samplers without them, eheh), ASP, Lost Signal, Clan of Xymox, Tanzwut, Impressions of Winter, BlutEngel, Hocico, Paradise Lost, Sigue Sigue Sputnik, Corvus Corax and a dozen others.

Grendel is a promising band from Holland that has matured a lot with this disc. Harsh sounds and catchy melodies can be discovered in the eight tracks on this EP. Besides the original of End Of Ages, there are two other versions by God Module and Pfusch Japscat. Further more you will also find a remix of Corroding Conscience by Feindflug. The lyrics of End Of Ages revolve around treating or already urgent catastrophes and dangers of mankind. This is another highly interesting band for the future. They keep surprising the listener with new ideas. The music sounds very easy but it is danceable and catchy as hell.

Serca is a UK based band that introduces their first demo EP. Hard industrial beats with a guitar line over it. That guitar line ranges from acoustic to screaming. It’s hard to put a label on this music but you can certainly cay that it is experimental. Reinvantion is a great song but also the industrial punk Side Affects and the metal, industrial track Back To Nature are worth checking out. Actually all the tracks are great. Six songs are offered to explore this new revelation. Let’s look out for a full length album.
