Deadwood is a master of dark noise menace, and he is also a master in creation of terrifying soundscape, he puts in right place every layer and the result is in the same time aggressive but not hysteric...is art is a good-to-hear-art-of-noise. Surely he works with very provocative icons of the underground and occult culture, another time he does it with Swedish elegance and competence. His technical set up reveals a deep knowledge of analogue and digital instruments and the field recording puts this artist of extreme sounds in the right light in terms of research and experimentation. I am keen to think that the art of noise is an art linked with the reality around us, in many sense it is a scientific psycho-research of the dark side of sounds. Another thing I like so much in this work is the use of voice filtered by microphones, it is really scaring and demoniac, he seems to be possessed by demons. The carpets he uses in the tracks are well built and there is no sense of dejà vu hearing the whole work. It is a perfect work to give sound to horror feature, I think that horror directors have to consider it seriously, the panorama he created is something so bad but well thought, Deadwood is a cinematographic artist in the sense of sound creation for movies and images. My favorite track? The seventh, it's really thrilling and subtle a perfect probing inside the hell of death noise after the fall of demons.

It is a privilege to write down some thought about the GOD OF NOISE, Merzbow, aka Masami Akita. His art is so well known and extreme that every work is a must to have for NOISE Friends and for men of control working for hidden prisons. Another time Merzbow destroys reality, annihilates every slice of the air around him with special tools played/destroyed without compromises an with his deepest knowledge on signals and sound terrorism. There are no words to express the amount of violence and desperation he puts inside his recording system, but for sure this art is not made to think but just to be overwhelmed by the force of the artist. His competence is absolute and the modulations he is able to give to the wall of noise he created is the proof of the fact that for him the noise has no secrets anymore. This is another time not only sound experiments and noise music, it is a complex system of de-programming from normal sound/normal music/normal living/normal feelings; we cannot decode the real program set up by Merzbow, it is a secret we won't know ever. His plan and aims aren't yet clear, we can only try to find a meaning, an inspiration, in the fortress of noise, inside the noise weapons he is able to set up. Probably he gets through noise a status of reality we cannot see.

MMM is a project derived from TEMPLEBEAT an EBM cult of the 90ies and they are deeply linked with the cultural milieu of SOTTOMONDO, in fact the best place to search and research in Italy "strange-fucking-good-things". MMM is a project to stomp and unchain our life from our daily life. It is easy to hear and to feel the energy of the band and their myspace is aimed to show it. There is techno-punk-EBM-industrial well mixed and above all well played live, in 2008 they had a part in Schalgstrom storm. Favorite track: 10, reminds me some 242 best tracks but with an Industrial appeal. What I like so much is the mediascape the band use to say about their art and thoughts (Saturno Buttò, Dark Spy fetish magazine, Matteo Bosi's art) all these elements aren't outside the music they play ARE entrails of their art; they use "simple" sounds but they burn behind it, there is force and also controlled depravation, both well tuned in this work.

Quetev Meririri work is really brilliant and complex, the dimension of sound creation they worked in is deeply rich, analog and performed with great attention and passion. They follow the vibes of traditional-oriental gloom and hazy acid-folk. It is easy to ear Yddish music among the drones performed with guitars and voices. A rich sound texture and a very good recording quality is the key that
Quetev Meriri uses to probe the mysterious side of Mediterrenean culture, the word Quetev is ancient Aramaic and means "Poisoned Arrow", but it is also the name of a demon, who dominant the noon hours. This work has a mood very dark but elegant not ominous or radical, it is an avantgarde/experimental piece looking at a the past: all the tracks have the name of radical Jewish Philosophers (Rosa Luxemburg, Walter Benjamin...).
The band is composed by Yehu Yaron, a well known bassist in Israel, composer and writer, involved in many projects even as a solo artist. Shai Lowestein is the she-noise-guitar artist of the band responsibles of the aggressive shadow made out with his guitar set up, very nice. Haim Rachmani, composer of Hebrew poet's poems, sing and noise-vocalist thru different tools. This debut album is for sure something very interesting and it opens a world of sounds and experiment unusual and deeply linked with past.

My favourite tracks of this work: Sleeping my day away and Planet Shame. Mono Inc. works with great passion and emphasis in the domain of the romantic/dark content. The lead vocals, Martin Engler, plays some rules of the great NOMI, and the deepness of his voice fits perfectly the content of his poetry. The themes they like : love, torment, torture of feelings and sleep put the band in the same territory defined by romanticism but also surrealism. The image of Mono Inc. is rich and well designed, every pixel is under control and their skills and live performance are powerful. I surely think that those tracks are ready to be used in horror movies about vampires bloody and dramatic loves stories. Last note: the synths pads are really nice and are one of the back bones of the tracks.
