This Is What I Hear When You Talk is the harsh noise wall project of Dan Fox, the man behind the Inner Demons label, and a ton of bands, including most notably Loss and Fail.

This is a companion disc to Kintsugi 01, and like that disc, this consists of nine short tracks (all of them are 2:20). I was surprised to see such short tracks from this project, and evidently so was Fox. The liner notes state that “More tracks that were intended to be longer pieces. I didn't pay attention to my settings and I didn't record the full 35 minutes for the thirtyfive page.” I really enjoyed Kintsugi 01, so let’s see if the sequel is as good as the original. Spoiler alert: it is.

As with Kintsugi 01, the tracks are really well done and interesting. Once again, we see the range of sound that Fox works with. Everything from heavy atmospheric work to pulsing electronics, to harsh noise wall. As with Kintsugi 01, if you are looking for the long form wall of noise that this project is known for, you will not find it here. But if you already know TIWIHWYT (or any other HNW project, for that matter), this is well worth checking out. This disc weighs in at 21 minutes.
