This is the work of Czech noisemaker Radek Kopel, who has been kicking around the noise scene for a long, long time. He is best known as the individual behind Napalmed. I had previously reviewed his other disc on Inner Demons under the eR_Ka moniker, and this is a significant departure from that release (for the better). The liner notes state that this is d.i.y. springmaster, ehx memory man + two loopers manipulated by RK. With the preliminaries out of the way, let's get into it.

This is industrial music in the "metal clanking on metal" sense of the word. I really like the rawness of the tracks. You actually get a sense of what things sound like, and the sounds are looped and spliced in interesting ways. But this is not harsh noise. For example, there is an interesting rhythm to the track "220212_05," which makes it almost soothing. Indeed, the long fade out in "220212_03" serves to reinforce that this is anything confrontational or aggressive.

Overall, the music is interesting and engaging. One could almost think of this as "acoustic noise," and I appreciate the fact that it is mainly loops and reverb leaving the source material relatively unscathed, rather than running everything through a million layers of distortion (not that there's anything wrong with that approach either!). In short, if you like experimental music more than you like walls of noise, this is well worth checking out. This is a set of two 3" discs that weighs in at around 31 minutes.
