"Hypogonadism" by Ujif_notfound is a haunting, politically charged meditation on surveillance, identity, and war, composed during the intense backdrop of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. As bleak as the title suggests, the album uses dark ambient and glitchy electronic soundscapes to create a dystopian vision. Tracks like "Trembeat" and "Pieta" incorporate samples from the Ukrainian film "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors", imbuing the music with a sense of cultural loss and memory.

The album is unsettling, designed to make you squirm in your seat - an expression of helplessness in the face of a political climate that erases individuality. Ujif_notfound wraps oppressive sonic textures in minimalist, mechanical technoid beats, as if drawing lines between personal fragility and the cold machinery of the state. "Napryamok" and "TNT Molfar" feel like walking through a war-torn landscape where hope flickers, just barely, on the horizon. The oppressive hums and fragmented rhythms become metaphors for a system collapsing from within.

Is it easy listening? Not remotely. But "Hypogonadism" isn’t meant to comfort - it’s a sound document of a moment, a reminder that while you might be able to “stay safe at home”, the world outside is burning, and you could be next. This is music with a mission, barbed and bruised, and fiercely Ukrainian to the core. However, I don't intend to promote or endorse any specific nationalist or political cause, instead emphasizing the album's universal exploration of human fragility amid crisis.

It could be a reflection on endurance, not an anthem.
