Gothenburg’s sonic alchemists Morlocks return with "Amor, Monstra Et Horrore Profundi", a five-track EP that plunges into the grotesque, the grandiose, and the darkly exhilarating. Known for their blend of industrial rock, neo-classical, darkwave, and metal, the band continues to forge a sound as theatrical as it is intense. Following the success of their 2023 album "Praise The Iconoclast" - and two U.S. tours alongside KMFDM in 2024 - they kick off 2025 with a release that balances chaos and catharsis, drawing from the world's bleakest corners and twisting them into something "weird, beautiful, and batshit insane".

Opening track "The S.N.A.F.U. Principle v3.0" is a relentless march through mechanical grooves, warped synth textures, and commanding vocals, embodying the band's dystopian energy with a nod to the old military acronym ("Situation Normal: All Fucked Up"). "March of the Goblins" follows as a seven-minute behemoth, a ritual procession into a Lovecraftian underworld where pounding percussion and ominous orchestration conjure visions of infernal gates creaking open. "The Lake Pt. I & II" forms the EP's eerie core, beginning with ghostly ambience before swelling into an intense, cinematic storm of layered guitars, pounding drums, and otherworldly chants. Closing track "Young Prisoners" is the most poignant piece, with a driving rhythm and lingering melody that captures a feeling of confinement and longing, a reflection on lost youth and self-imposed cages.

Morlocks don’t just make music; they craft immersive, all-encompassing experiences. "Amor, Monstra Et Horrore Profundi" is a testament to their ability to weave drama and darkness into sound, a journey through chaos and grandeur where the grotesque becomes beautiful and the darkest horrors transform into something exhilarating.
