Bestia Centauri bring us into a dark place with this new record. From what I can gather, this is their first proper CD release (with 2 other cd-r releases previously). Four tracks and clocking in at over 50 minutes, invites you to bring your attention spans to the ceremony. The tracks all untitled, have an understated calm to them, while being quite forceful and demanding your attentiveness while listening. Varied from start to finish, the tracks wash over you with ambient charm while still tearing you from limb to limb with sonic precision. Those looking for further enlightenment will find it here, as the packaging details the Self Immolation Rite as well as explaining the thought process behind the project. I am wary to mention the satanic aspects, if only because of most people’s negative opinions. While I may not agree with their belief system, this CD invites the listener to accompany them on an exquisite journey deep into the bowels of their own soul. The packaging is quite pleasurable, full color liner notes, with a number of pictures to act as a "map" for your trip...
