TALES FOR SILENT NIGHTS is the second Monoceros album and it will be released by a join venture of Imaginary Nonexistent Records (Joan Male a.k.a. Monoceros self label) and Fueradeserie. They already released the previous Monoceros E.P. "Imaginary" and on January they will made available this new CD. As far as I can remember the previous "When I Was A Child I Wanted To Be An Astronaut" at a first listening TALES FOR SILENT NIGHTS contains a wider spectrum of emotions containing more orchestrations (as on the opening "The day we become one") or more melancholic melodies (like on "Depression and vortex at Jan Mayen" where the melodies are fluctuating like on space being echoed and reverbered making their space through glitch noises and rhythms). The following "Background birds" surprisingly contains also sounds of a light picked guitar blended with bleeps, pads and a relaxed background melody. As far as I can remember the previous work, on this one Joan did a great job by increasing melody and by building his tracks like if it was a wall: brick by brick and taking care of its solidity. If the melancholic atmosphere and the light noises/sounds used could make you think about a weak "songwriting" (even if we aren't talking about proper songs, let me use this term) in this case and fortunately, you are wrong. Take a trip though Monoceros' lands and you'll lose your way out...
