Based on "Tractate about mannequins" written by Bruno Schulz, Bisclaveret's LES MANNEQUINS is a concept album which signs also the birth of a new collective of people gathered under the name of Zoharum. The album contains a 38 minutes track which is always in balance between dark ambient (drones and nightmarish atmosphere enriched by a violin sound which appear here and there adding drama) and industrial music (see the clanging samples used which have been heavily treated). The overall atmosphere is really tense and you can feel an overwhelming feeling of discomfort but musically the album is a little static because the sounds create a sort of magmatic wave which goes back and forth. Unfortunately not Polish people would miss half of the work because the reading voice uses Polish language and there's no booklet included reporting more informations. The only way to understand the spirit of the work would be reading the book (I found that it has been published in France in the sixties) but it isn't available easily. A nice work which, musically talking, would be better enjoyed by foreign people if it would contain more tracks.
