Simon Patterson was active as drummer on early '80s with different Devon and London bands. Apart from drums he started to work with synthesizers and he did his own musical project under the name of Spoon Fazer. With this name he did "Music 2 Dance 2" 7"EP (Project Records, UK, 1980), Sunset 12"EP (Illuminated Records, UK, 1982) and two tapes "Bam Boo" and "Just another Man-in-Sect". Anna Logue picked up four tracks which fit most its music ground and did this 7" E.P. "Rising Sun", "Kyoto", "Festival" and "Back to the Beginning" show well the passion/obsession that Simon had for Japan. The melodies and some rhythmic solution have been influenced by the music tradition of the "land of the rising sun" and mixed with the synthetic sounds used are able to create a particular blend. Sometimes a little naive but nice. I'd like to suggest "Rising sun" to the people who like the Dalis Car album and "Back to the Beginning" to the lovers of John Foxx of the "Golden section" period.
