"Awekening" is an instrumental guitar-heavy industrial-metal vanity project by italian rock guitar virtuoso Fabrizio Chiruzzi. The drum machine here is really the only link between what Chiruzzi does and what Chain D.L.K. covers. Other than that it is basically a prog metal shred fest that might be enjoyed by fans of Dream Theater, Yngwie Malmsteen, Porcupine Tree etc... Although not my cop of tea, Chiruzzi is obviously talented, although unavoidably niche-specific. A bunch of guests (such as keyboard player Mistheria and Oro's drummer Fabio Colella) are part of this record and because of the fact that he also plays the Starlabs Ztar midi guitar he will likely be stirring up comparisons with Jordan Rudess and other keyboard-featuring prog bands, even though he is a guitarrist.
Sometimes I wish people realized that having a drum machine is not enough to be called industrial.
