As much as I can go conform with the new full-length album of VAC, this digital download-only release has to be reviewed critically. It may makes perfect sense to release the kicking "Caustic Disco" out of "The Art Of Breaking Apart", as this one promises to be a club smasher from East to West Coast, but the artistically content of VAC themselves is quite reduced. It really seems, that the duo Erickson/Loomis has lost any interest to investigate own and unique ideas into this 7-tracker. The title track got remixed 4 times by foreign acts and I tend to name the MINDLESS FAITH-remix as being the one, which completely fulfills the plan to storm the floors of the nationwide dark clubs. The remix of KALTE FARBEN can’t follow the original, but I guess, that wasn’t to expect, since this German project has always convinced with rather bizarre sound sculptures, instead to produce stuff related to the (main) stream. What you’ll get additionally is an "Alternate Mix" of the album instrumental tune "Killed In Space" and two yet unreleased tunes entitled "Mental Ich" and "Zombie Sex". These both tunes seem to be rather relics out of Bryan Erickson’s deleted side-project TOXIC COMA, as their bizarre structures and the chosen samples approving this. No stuff in that quality, the "normal" VAC-fan would expect, both really smell like stinky filling stuff. Too obviously business-related decisions alter this release a lot, while the MINDLESS FAITH remix of "Caustic Disco" kicks brilliantly asses!
