Artist: PULBY
Title: The Soundfreeze E.P.
Format: MCD (Mini CD)
Label: Dead Digital (@)
First Dead Digital released the Pulby/Primitive Painter 7", then the Primitive Painter MCD and then this release: Pulby's THE SOUNDFREEZE E.P. I already appreciated their "Water From Different Falls" coming from the split 7" with Primitive Painter. In this new release the band bring us four new tracks of their melancholic music. "Seven Days In Space" is the highlight of this E.P. with its dreamy atmosphere, whispered vocals and light trumpet. Also "Highlights" and "Big White" are catchy tunes but more rhythmic respect the opening track. "The End Of The Soundfreeze" is the most experimental track of the lot and with its piano tune, like a lament, close this cool E.P. Surely for a whole album they'd need a little more energy to keep listener's attention up for forty minutes but I'm sure they'd do something good. It's not rock nor electronic but Pulby's music contains them both and it's worth checking it out.
