Die Gesunden were a Berlin band that recorded only one self named record in 1982 for Klaus Schulze's Innovative Communication, label which he formed in 1978 after he became very interested in the earliest Berlin Neue Deutsche Welle bands (such as Ideal, etc). Formed by Mabel Aschenneller and Eschi Rehm (who sadly passed away on November 12, 2008), they were also joined on drums by Thomas Wydler (who later became known for joining Nick Cave And the Bad Seeds), Die Gesunden before releasing their album where quite known around Germany and one of their highlights has been a tour in 1981 supporting DAF (Deutsche Amerikanische Freundschaft). The ten track of the album (eleven in this Medical Records reissue as here you can also find a nice bizarre cover of Velvet Underground's "Waiting For My Man") are a collection of tracks that span from proto-industrial (check the marching atmospheres of "Atmen" or the obsessive closing "Film Musik" as well as ) to experimental new wave (the opening "Instru-mental", "Die Gesunden Kommen" or "Der Weg Zum Erfolg"). The tracks have powerful and dramatic atmosphere and fans of early D.A.F., Der Plan (Medical Records reissued their first two albums two years ago) or Pyrolator can finally enjoy this gem. This reissue is presented on high-quality 180gram opaque 'baby pink' vinyl. Features slight alteration and reinterpretation of the original front cover and redesigned back cover.
