Other than the note that this was written, produced, and mastered by Frank Mokros, there was no information on this artist. Some digging lets us know that this is a side project of Synth-Etik, who has had several releases on Hands Productions. Ativ has also released on Hands, Ad Noiseam, and Frozen Empire Media (now there's a label I haven't heard of in a long time!).
If you're looking for noise with a beat, you'll have to wait a bit, as you could reasonably look at this as a composition with several movements. The disc opens with a lovely droning soundscape with just enough sawtooth waveforms to make it feel at home on Inner Demons. Heavy drone, bits of heavily processed voice, pulsing filter sweeps, and eventually a stabbing synth line. About halfway through the song switches up significantly. We keep the drone, but add a driving rhythm and some generous slabs of noise and distortion thrown in at times.
Overall, this is very well done and Mokros packs a lot of variety into 21 minutes. Well worth picking up if you like rhythmic noise, dark drone, or just good electronic music.
