Next up in the Homogenized Terrestrials release-o-rama is 'the dream cubes,' a nine-track sonic extravaganza in only 47 minutes. According to Phil Klampe, "the dream cubes is the first in a series of releases that will examine dreams. this edition considers interpretation of dreams and how themes often recur from one dream into another, sometimes in a different context." The first track, "hoold zin" sounds like a battle with plastic tubes in an alien bubble-bounce house. "rolmek," which follows has somewhat of an alarming blare to it. Small-scale activity on an unknown planet might be what you're hearing on "demz." Imagine if you could actually hear shifting tectonic plates. That could be "floon" (track 4). The melange of sounds in "schlot" are eerily familiar, yet randomly obscure in their construct. What I get from "squorshc" is an overwhelming amount of heat, akin to being inside a furnace. I was totally flummoxed by "sland" and "shoon-ti" sounds like celebration day on Planet X. Ending with "kiru," the track at first sounds like dissolution and entropy, but the latter part sounds more like evolution, or a becoming of something else. This enigmatic set of soundscapes may require more concentration than I can spare at the moment to fully realize their intracies, but in dreams there is seldom linear logic.
