Here is another short release from Greek musician Substak. The label describes this as "a haunting blend of drones and distortion, echoing the chaos within the experimental soundscape." Sounds promising, so let's dive in.

Opening up the album is “Larking Shadows” a slow moving piece with vaguely metallic elements thrown in. It has a nice atmosphere and manages to be dark, but not ominous. “Enigmatic Depth” is less mellow, with a kind of grittiness to it. Substak takes the machine-like elements and brings them to the forefront. Finally, “Pulse of Innovation” is what one would expect stowing away in a spacecraft to sound like. You're hiding in the cargo bay listening to the pulsing sound that runs through the ever-present hum like a heartbeat. Just don't get caught because you really don't want to get thrown overboard.

If you like your dark ambient atmospheric, this is well worth checking out. It's a short listen at just over 17 minutes, but it’s a good listen. Looking forward to hearing what Substak does with more time.
