This Is What I Hear When You Talk is the work of Dan Fox, who is also the man behind Inner Demons Records and the projects Loss, Fail, and a host of others. This is his Harsh Noise Wall project and the general formula of TIWIHWYT is to find an interesting sound and run with it, so let's see what TIWIHWYT has in store for us this time.

This set consists of two 3” CDs. The first is titled “Nope.” This is heavy static with a distorted bass layer that works well together. I could swear that there were heavily processed, distorted voices buried under the layers of distortion. Overall, a nice wall.

The second disc is “Also Nope.” This one feels a bit more sparse, with a bit of crackle throughout and a deep bass rumble laying the foundation. The overall effect is that there is a kind of waiting for something to happen, giving the listener a sense of tension that is never resolved.

Like much of TIWIHWYT's work, this is kind of peaceful in a way but overall “Nope” was the stronger disc. That said, if you like harsh noise wall, this will definitely be up you alley. This weighs in at 44 minutes total.
